About a Book

Thursday I talked about making books to go along side with my hats and here is one of them. It is just a basic accordion fold to see how well the paper would hold up. I also took a break to learn how to tie a monkey's fist knot. I was pleased

paper hat In the works

A paper hat so far. I've used a pattern to get the pieces and now I have to get the top piece and the brim of the hat and sew it together. For my next hat I do want to experiment with different paper, or use a lighter paper to line these hats.

Research & TED Talks

I know I want to make graphs for my thesis project, but I've been struggling with the data and what data should I collect. So I started to just research and see what others have been doing. I started with books such as: idN extra07: designing data, Information is Beautiful, Information Graphics. Which then lead me to some artists such as Nicholas Felton, and David McCandless. Nicholas Felton's work is one of my favorites. From there I ended up watching TED talks, and though I still have no idea what my topic should be about I did find some interesting stuff on infographs.
